As technological advances have come and gone through the realm of the entertainment and music industry, the team at Life In Color has made sure to incorporate as many elements of the ‘experience & wow factors’ through it’s growth and evolution as being one of the worlds top music festivals, specifically “The World’s Largest Paint Party”.
With over 250,000 gallons of paint splashed all over the world of dance floors, extravagant interactive stage productions, over the top LED wall installations and extreme multi-colored laser light shows it’s no surprise that they’ve now enlisted one of the most in demand touring sound companies that has been synonymous with quality, hand made speakers since day 1 – PK SOUND.
The reality is that with as many technological advances happening in the music festival industry with lighting, stage designs, exotic locations (and a new ‘headliner every 5 minutes) it’s been ages since someone successfully made revolutionary changes in the speaker industry. After all – it’s the music (coming from the speakers) that we’re all attending music festivals for right?
So what is it about PK Sound that has festival producers jumping at the chance of being ‘Powered by PK?’ From going on full tours with Excision, Datsik, Diplo’s ‘Mad Decent Block Party’ and even on 2 stages at EDC Las Vegas & Mexico City; it is the experience of a full dynamic range of frequencies giving you the cleanest & fullest bass possible. Featuring crystal clear mids & highs which they’ve creatively re-designed using mid-high & ‘super high’ drivers, they deliver a virtually distortion free signal to the human ear and even all of your cell phone recordings. I personally had the privilege of seeing first hand and jumping on the nearly indestructible subwoofer drivers and stepping into the ‘torture chamber’ where they test the speakers at full blast (for 1,000 hours blasting proper dubstep and drum & bass) and can attest that the team behind PK lives & breaths their love and passion for dance music – which their product shows. All this plus more bundled into a robotic system for easy setups, wireless communications between the speakers and FOH and the ability to move the cones in the speakers to properly direct your sound without altering the signal digitally makes PK’s Trinity a leader of it’s own kind.
The story of PK Sound is one of an avid bass music DJ/producer and genius engineer (Subvert aka Jeremy Bridge) who’s longing for a better experience for dance music lovers at festivals that play music 24/7 over multiple days motivated him to create this immensely gracious gift that we all get to now enjoy and experience. What started as a test for one stage at Shambhala Festival has now grown through its own organic matter to present day, ready to rattle everyone’s souls that will be attending Life In Color’s 10 year anniversary with ground shattering bass.
Likewise, that passion and dedication for bringing A-grade caliber events to its attendees lives deep within the team behind Life In Color. Although the days of using neon highlighters & black lights on the walls of college dorms, or filling up super soakers with paint to squirt attendees from the stage are long gone – the joy, excitement and anticipation of that ‘Paint Blast’ continues to spread as they eloquently continue to grow the global footprint of the Life In Color brand, now expanding to nearly every continent in the world!
It’s been astonishing to see the addictive manner in which LIC has propelled itself on to the dance music world and is no surprise they are celebrating their 10 year anniversary with one of its biggest lineups to date featuring Diplo, Carnage, Marshmello, Young Thug, Seven Lions, TriTonal, Illenium, Desiigner, Mija, Ookay, Solano, Doctor P, Bonnie x Clyde, and Fresko. That intense lineup is being split between two distinctly urban environments that will also feature live graffiti art by some of Miami’s finest, a wide array of multi-cultural food trucks and a variety of live elements you will have to see in person at the Mana and RC Cola Plant in Wynwoon. Described as “the perfect venue to host the paint party to end all paint parties”, Life in Color can now call Miami’s art district of Wynwood home.
So get ready, don’t forget your most white outfit possible and prepare to be part of the flagship Life In Color Miami festival which boasted 25,000 attendees in 2016 – and if you don’t get to attend, be on the look out for the cinematic recap films that are sure to have paint blasts on beautiful people all over them!
